KarmaBitez: Jollia Fung and Tiffany Ho

Jollia: "Karmabitez was inspired by my first backpacking trip through Africa. I was amazed by the way locals appreciate and cherish their resources. Nothing goes to waste. My backpacking trip was not only a cultural experience but it was one of a lifestyle change. A lifestyle of minimalism, mindfulness, and purposeful intentions."

Tiffany: "We aim to become a key contributor of the zero waste movement. We created Karmabitez with the intention to promote mindfulness for our natural resources, especially food and to spark conversations and promote awareness on ways to reduce food waste."

"We rescue organic juice pulp from local juiceries and upcycle them into vegan, gluten free snacks. Our process is simple. We mix a simple blend of spices into the pulp and hand rolled them out on dehydrator sheets to be cooked under very low temperatures for 20 hours. This is the best way to retain the nutritional integrity of our ingredients and to bring out the natural flavour of the juice pulp.

Our guiding principles are based on a social mission to create an ethical product that promotes the respect for humanity and the environment. We are most passionate about helping local businesses reduce food waste and raising awareness to the public on the issues of global food waste."
